How to fill AI Generated?, Item Count & Content Type
1. AI Generated? — is the image real or synthetic
Pick Yes if you see any of these:
- Garbled or nonsense text on packs / menus / labels
- Melted or plastic-looking food, unnaturally glossy surfaces
- Impossible geometry — spoons merging into bowls, warped edges, floating shadows
- Malformed hands, extra fingers, mismatched cutlery pairs
- Too-perfect symmetry, dreamy blur, lighting with no clear source
- Brand logo close but wrong (spelling, proportions, colours)
Pick No for real photos: readable pack text, natural crumbs/stains/reflections, ordinary shadows, phone-camera or studio look.
Pick Not sure only when signals conflict — never guess.
2. Item Count — how many distinct products are visible
- Count distinct product types, not pieces: 6 identical laddoos = 1
- A thali with rice, dal and paneer = 3
- Multipack of the same SKU = 1; a 3-flavour variety pack = 3
- Ignore props — plates, cutlery, napkins, backgrounds don't count
- Garnish (coriander, lemon wedge) doesn't count unless it's the product
- Menu board: count the dishes listed, not the photos
3. Content Type — what the image is doing
- Menu — a list of dishes with names/prices; restaurant board or card
- Cuisine — a prepared, plated dish; food styling with no pack or offer
- Product — packaged goods in focus: bottle, jar, pouch, box, label readable
- Marketing — promo copy dominates: discount %, "Buy 1 Get 1", sale badge, brand campaign
- Seasonal — tied to a festival or season: Diwali, Christmas, Halloween, Ramadan, summer/monsoon theme
Overlap rule: festival theme wins over everything → Seasonal. Otherwise a visible offer/price promo → Marketing. Then pack in focus → Product. Then plated food → Cuisine.
AI-generated / manipulated content — signals to check
- Unnatural dripping or sauces — liquid flows in a way gravity wouldn't allow, or sauce sits impossibly on the food
- Odd / floating garnishes — herbs, toppings or garnish appear stuck mid-air or placed with no contact point
- Unrealistic food orientation or placement — items balanced or angled in a way that couldn't happen naturally
- Steam leaving a glass or dish unrealistically — steam rises from a cold item, or in an odd direction/shape
- Food texture looks synthetic — surface looks plastic, waxy, or too smooth/perfect for real food
- Artifacts / pieces look identical — multiple pieces (fries, nuts, slices) are exact clones of each other
- Incorrect branding on a branded item — logo, label text or packaging design doesn't match the real brand
- Non-food background elements look off — table, plate, cutlery or backdrop has warped or nonsensical shapes
- Item appears / disappears on its own — (video) something in frame pops in or vanishes with no cause
- Unnatural hand / utensil movement — (video) hand or utensil moves in a jerky, warped or physically odd way
- Item shape, size, or color changes mid-motion — (video) the same object visibly morphs between frames
- Overlapping / unrealistic placement — objects intersect or stack in a way that isn't physically possible
- Blurring, distortion, or pixels breaking up — localized smearing, warping or pixel artifacts, especially at edges
- Odd angle / orientation of plate or table — surface or plate is tilted/rotated in a way that breaks perspective
- Extra / irrelevant or omitted items — something appears that doesn't belong, or an expected item is missing
Tick any that apply when marking AI Generated? — more matches = stronger case for "AI-generated".
